Black & White.

(Jacket, J.Crew; Chambray, J.Crew (sold out but similar here); Sweater, Ann Taylor (currently 30% off online purchases!); Jeans, DL1961; Scarf, J.Crew; Shoes, Vince Camuto (like these too in gold!); Sunnies, Ray-Ban)
I recently decided to take the plunge and chop off 6inches of my hair! I wanted to go shorter but since it was my first time in a long time having short hair (3rd grade??), I guess easing into it was the play. I went to Antonio Prieto in Chelsea and had Brenna, who was great and I would definitely recommend.

I was contemplating this drastic change for a while, keeping in mind that hair always grows back if I absolutely hated it. Did I ever think I could pull off short hair? Meh. It wasn't something I pictured myself doing until later down the road but I'm so happy I did. Watching my locks float to the floor as I sat patiently in the swivel chair turned out to be extremely freeing and much less stressful than when I go in to get a simple trim.

Would you opt for a shorter do' this season?

A bit on what I'm wearing: Black & white always look chic together.  I decided to take my own advice and layer up with fun textured pieces, like these Vince Camuto suede and patent leather flats (Michael Jackson, anyone? Yow!).

Around Town.

(Sweater, J.Crew; Scarf, J.Crew (also like this one!); Pants, J.Crew; Shoes, Vince Camuto; Jacket, Old Navy; Sunnies, Ray-Ban; Jewelry, F.Gerald New, David Yurman)
Three-day weekends always seem to go by just as quickly as two-day weekends. I spent Columbus day weekend in the city and took advantage of all the great sales (and of course at J.Crew!). The new "Andie" chinos from J.Crew are a current favorite and a nice alternative to jeans this fall.

Fall Foliage.

weekend wardrobe

(Shirt, J.Crew (love this one too!); Sweater, Boast (similar version here); Jeans, J.Crew; Backpack, Madewell; Shoes, Vince Camuto; Cap, J.Crew)

Pumpkin patches, apple picking, wine tours and (insert here)fests. Day trips during the fall are the best to take in the crisp weather and colorful foliage. The key to being prepared is wearing layers, comfortable shoes and bag large enough to carry anything else you might need. Village Tannery has me on a backpack kick lately and they are also more practical for traveling with than a large tote.

Whistle Stop.

(Skirt, J.Crew; Sweater, J.Crew; Purse, J.Crew; Shoes, Vince Camuto but similar here; Jewelry, now on sale at J.Crew, David Yurman, Sunnies, Selima Sun sold out but similar here.) Photog, thanks to Catherine Monaghan.

I spent this past weekend home for some necessary R&R as well as my friend Jen's bridal shower. This was my first shower so I wasn't quite sure what to wear but decided on a skirt and sweater combo, which was perfect for the warm but still crisp weather!

Pink Pastel.

(Jacket, J.Crew similar here; Blouse, J.Crew; Jeans, Rich & Skinny; Shoes, Vince Camuto; Sunnies, Selima Sun; Bag, Tory Burch similar here)

Happy Easter! I decided to pair a fun pink pastel button-down with a blue jacket and heels, dressing it down with boyfriend jeans. I like how adding somewhat baggier denim with dressier items immediately creates a casual but still chic outfit. I'm looking forward to some family time today and taking a bite out of my white chocolate bunny!

Black and Blue.

(Jacket, Forever21; Oxford, Madewell; Pants, Zara (similar here); Gloves, Bloomingdale's; Purse, Zara; Sunnies, Ray-Ban; Shoes, Vince Camuto. Photog, SamLaj)

It has been awhile since I last posted! I have practically gone into hibernation mode since the weather has been so cold. Not too much has happened in January, however, aside from turning the pivotal quarter life and completing level 2 of the BluePrintCleanse.

A little bit on the juice cleanse: Not sure how I feel about it the second time around. The first time, although I complained the whole three days during the cleanse, I actually felt that it was worth it because it left me feeling more energized and craving healthier foods (without thinking twice!). As I finished the BPC for the second time all I could think of was how much I was going to eat to make up for the last three days of juicing...and I feel like I've been "making up for it" ever since.  It somewhat had the opposite effect this time around so might be some time before I do the full on detox again

A little bit on turning 25: Truth is, I actually feel less of a sense of urgency. It is probably (definitely) all in my head, but other than that I feel no different in matters of maturity than I did a week ago. We'll see what the year has in store..

P.S. SamLaj got me this awesome oxford from Madewell for my birthday and I've already worn it multiple times in the past week. - It goes with everything!

Tailgate.

(Vest, J.Crew; Shirt: J.Crew; Chambray, J.Crew; Jeans, DL1961; Boots, Vince Camuto similar here ; Purse, Tory Burch; Gloves, Bloomingdale's; Sunnies, Ray-Ban)

Went to the 148th Lafayette-Lehigh football game this weekend. We were so fortunate to have a sunny day and it was warm enough that we didn't need to wear jackets. I layered two button downs and added a printed vest over the plaid. What do you think about mixing prints?
