Purple + Grey.

(Jeans, DL1961; Top, Club Monaco (black seen here); Hat, Rag & Bone (also love this in "Shell"); Boots, Vintage)
I was back home this past weekend and decided to grab a drink with my mom at Washington House, an adorably quaint restaurant in the center of Basking Ridge, NJ. I hadn't been back since the night Tommy and I got engaged. This is where we ended the night of our engagement meeting up with both of our families and listening to live classic rock covers. WH has some of the most amazing cocktails. I had the "OMG!" and mom had "Make My Day".  I tend to skim through a drink menu looking first at the ingredients and if mint and jalapeno are paired together, I'm sold. If you are adventurous enough to recreate it yourself, the OMG! is tequila-based and includes the following:

-Tequila
-Solerno
-Pickled Jalapenos
-Lime
-Agave
-Mint

I decided to throw on my most comfortable pair of jeans and my go-to Rag & Bone hat. It always pulls a look together even when I'm in a hurry to get out the door!

Camel + Coffee.

(Sweater, Zara; Jeans, DL1961; Jacket, J.Crew (similar here); Shoes, Zara(similar here))
I love mixing colors that are all in the same family: White, off-white and camel - well, for me this combo is total perfection. In NYC, where we can so easily get wrapped up in wearing strictly black through March (and I am definitely guilty of the same!), it's nice to switch it up once in awhile and wear the exact opposite.

Winter whites are a timeless yet refreshing way to change up your wardrobe this time of year so if you have yet to break your white jeans out this season, do it.

Black // Black.

(Pants, Theory (also seen here) Top, Club Monaco, here - ON SUPER SALE!; Sunnies, Ray-Ban; Boots, Madewell, Beanie, Club Monaco also on sale!)

So you know that feeling when you get in a rut with your wardrobe? Around about January-February without fail each year that is how I feel. I have a closet full of clothes but nothing to wear. Bored with my favorite sweater and jeans combo, actually bored with pretty much all my sweaters at this point and I'm in need of a wardrobe refresh or maybe in need of a trip somewhere warm (I'd love that too!).

While Punxsutawney Phil did not see his shadow earlier this week, the weather is still cold and we have snow forecasted in NYC. Enter winter sales. Everywhere. Some of my favorite go-to pieces that 1) I'm not sick of yet and 2) are super versatile have come from Club Monaco. While I did not get the beanie on sale (lucky you because it now is!), I did get this lightweight sweater turtleneck on sale. It is super comfortable and doesn't have too much "turtle;" as in thick like a shell and practically covers your chin. Yeah, this one is opposite of that so you can totally go out without feeling all bundled up. Just the way I like it.

Dueces, 2015.

(Jeans, DL1961; Top, Banana Republic (similar here - ON SALE!); Jacket, J.Crew (another fun pattern here); Boots, Madewell)

I hope everyone had a great holiday! Tommy and I spent time with our families back home and are looking forward to having a relatively quiet New Year's Eve. Seems like everyone is really feeling the laid back vibes this year more than the party scene. Looking back on 2015, it has been a very busy year. Besides starting a new job and moving into a new apartment, we got engaged(!), which will surely bring on an even busier 2016.

I'll most likely be in jeans and a simple top and a fun pair of earrings like this pair my sister, Sam got me for Christmas. If we head to a bar for the ball drop, I'll throw this fun plaid jacket on. I'm usually one to opt for camel colored and grey coats but this jacket, as are all patterned jackets, is perfect to pair with a simple look to spice things up a bit!

Have a fun and safe New Year's, see you in 2016!

Sleek Sleeves.

(Dress, Kamali Kulture; Shoes, Michael Kors; Necklace, J.Crew (similar here - only $42!))
I am a huge believer in long sleeved dresses - mini or floor-length I just love them. I think they're flattering and somewhat fierce (in a good way!).  This dress is one of my favorites by Kamali Kulture and reminds me of a much pricier Calvin Klein Collection dress.

As the holidays approach, long sleeves won't only keep you feeling sleek but will also keep you appropriately warm.

Check out some of my picks: 1.here, 2.here, 3.here (cheaper version of 2) and here (closest to the one pictured).

Mix and Match.

(Jeans, DL1961; Shirt, J.Crew; Vest, J.Crew seen here; Shoes, Ash; Necklace, Francesca's Collection, similar here)

Good morning! A couple of things here that are my current obsession. There are my Ash wedge sneakers that I recently wore and my newest purchase that was a bubble necklace from Francesca's.  Although I am a huge fan of all things J.Crew (herringbone vest + polka dot shirt!), I am happy to find a less expensive alternative to fun costume jewelry. Francesca's has a lot of other cute and inexpensive pieces including this versatile three in one bag that I saw one of my friends sporting this past Sunday.

Casual.

(Jacket, Barbour; Shirt, Forever21; Scarf, All Saints; Denim, DL1961; Shoes, Ash; Wallet, Tory Burch)

After spending President's Day Weekend in Mt. Snow, VT. I needed a weekend to recharge and relax. Friday, we enjoyed some italian fare at Supper in the East Village. Great food and ambiance.

Funny story. As we made our way out, I spotted an SNL cast member who I proceeded to call Tina Fey. It was the first name that came to my mind yet it was Rachel Dratch, you might recognize her from the  "Debbie Downer" SNL skits. I imagine the words came out almost in that deep, slow motion voice (Tiiiinaa Feeeeey) as I immediately realized my blunder and asked her to take a photo. Clearly that wasn't happening. I later found out it was also her birthday! Bad timing on my part.

Spent the rainy Saturday afternoon at Houston Hall and also enjoyed a nice Sunday brunch at a neighborhood spot, Cask.

I caught a bit of the Oscars and of course caught the Oscars Pre-Show on the Red Carpet.

Best Dressed: Aside from Jennifer Lawrence, who looked amazing, I loved Charlize Theron's dress (not so much her hair) as well as Louise Roe's Monique Lhullier number.

Worst Dressed: Toss up between Helena Bonham Carter and Kristen Stewart.

Who do you think was best dressed? What did you think of Helen Hunt's H&M Dress?

P.S. Finally get to show you my Ash wedge sneakers! I've been getting a ton of use out of them, especially for a more casual look during the day when you still want the extra inches.

Black and Blue.

(Jacket, Forever21; Oxford, Madewell; Pants, Zara (similar here); Gloves, Bloomingdale's; Purse, Zara; Sunnies, Ray-Ban; Shoes, Vince Camuto. Photog, SamLaj)

It has been awhile since I last posted! I have practically gone into hibernation mode since the weather has been so cold. Not too much has happened in January, however, aside from turning the pivotal quarter life and completing level 2 of the BluePrintCleanse.

A little bit on the juice cleanse: Not sure how I feel about it the second time around. The first time, although I complained the whole three days during the cleanse, I actually felt that it was worth it because it left me feeling more energized and craving healthier foods (without thinking twice!). As I finished the BPC for the second time all I could think of was how much I was going to eat to make up for the last three days of juicing...and I feel like I've been "making up for it" ever since.  It somewhat had the opposite effect this time around so might be some time before I do the full on detox again

A little bit on turning 25: Truth is, I actually feel less of a sense of urgency. It is probably (definitely) all in my head, but other than that I feel no different in matters of maturity than I did a week ago. We'll see what the year has in store..

P.S. SamLaj got me this awesome oxford from Madewell for my birthday and I've already worn it multiple times in the past week. - It goes with everything!

Pop of Red.

(Jacket, Barbour; Shirt, J.Crew; Sweater, J.Crew; Necklace, Joe Fresh similar here; Gloves, Bloomingdale's; Sunnies, Selima for J.Crew; Boots, Vince Camuto) Photog, SamLaj.

Home for the holidays and can't believe Christmas is already over. A couple of my favorite gifts were my Barbour jacket and leather texting gloves! Surprisingly green and red, respectively.

P.S. Today is my 100th post! Thanks for following along and I look forward to more to come!
