Sprung.

(Top, Club Monaco; Shoes in Beige Goose Bump Nappa, Stuart Weitzman; Sunnies, Ray-Ban)
In anticipation of warmer weather, I'm absolutely loving off the shoulder shirts for Spring 2016. It is an essential piece that doubles as both playful and fancy (check out those dramatic sleeves!). I'm thinking I will get tons of use out of this silhouette - paired with boyfriend jeans and a casual sneaker or throw on some heels and a silk pant for a dressier look.

I've collaborated on the next few posts with Jenny Moloney Photography, our talented wedding photographer and friend to give you some outfit inspo & tips for this wedding season. T & I have a whopping 12 weddings to attend this year including our own so to tee it up, say "yes" to an off the shoulder top:

Bridal Shower Guest: Try a bodysuit and a maxi
Modern Bride-to-Be: Something blue half tucked into a wide leg pant
Bachelorette: Jumpsuits are always fun
Nautical Vibes: Rehearsal Dinner | Reception
Post-Wedding Brunch: Flowy top and high-waisted linen trousers

Boho Chic.

(Jeans, DL1961 in "Cashel"; Top, Club Monaco; Poncho, Free People)
What is going on with this wacky April weather? While it might be spring, it totally doesn't feel like it with these winter-like temps we've been experiencing in NYC.

I found this outfit tucked away in some of my photo archives and figured I'd share given the frigidness outside. I was a bit hesitant because the fringe poncho is different than the pieces I'm typically drawn towards: sleek, clean lines and patterns. If anything, the poncho is sending me all kinds of hippie vibes but I felt that the sleek turtle neck and slim-fitting jeans underneath were able to keep the look classic.

In other news, HUGE Friends & Family sale happening on SHOPBOP. 25% off using code INTHEFAM. I've already made some purchases including that I can put to good use as soon as this weather turns around!

Purple + Grey.

(Jeans, DL1961; Top, Club Monaco (black seen here); Hat, Rag & Bone (also love this in "Shell"); Boots, Vintage)
I was back home this past weekend and decided to grab a drink with my mom at Washington House, an adorably quaint restaurant in the center of Basking Ridge, NJ. I hadn't been back since the night Tommy and I got engaged. This is where we ended the night of our engagement meeting up with both of our families and listening to live classic rock covers. WH has some of the most amazing cocktails. I had the "OMG!" and mom had "Make My Day".  I tend to skim through a drink menu looking first at the ingredients and if mint and jalapeno are paired together, I'm sold. If you are adventurous enough to recreate it yourself, the OMG! is tequila-based and includes the following:

-Tequila
-Solerno
-Pickled Jalapenos
-Lime
-Agave
-Mint

I decided to throw on my most comfortable pair of jeans and my go-to Rag & Bone hat. It always pulls a look together even when I'm in a hurry to get out the door!

Black // Black.

(Pants, Theory (also seen here) Top, Club Monaco, here - ON SUPER SALE!; Sunnies, Ray-Ban; Boots, Madewell, Beanie, Club Monaco also on sale!)

So you know that feeling when you get in a rut with your wardrobe? Around about January-February without fail each year that is how I feel. I have a closet full of clothes but nothing to wear. Bored with my favorite sweater and jeans combo, actually bored with pretty much all my sweaters at this point and I'm in need of a wardrobe refresh or maybe in need of a trip somewhere warm (I'd love that too!).

While Punxsutawney Phil did not see his shadow earlier this week, the weather is still cold and we have snow forecasted in NYC. Enter winter sales. Everywhere. Some of my favorite go-to pieces that 1) I'm not sick of yet and 2) are super versatile have come from Club Monaco. While I did not get the beanie on sale (lucky you because it now is!), I did get this lightweight sweater turtleneck on sale. It is super comfortable and doesn't have too much "turtle;" as in thick like a shell and practically covers your chin. Yeah, this one is opposite of that so you can totally go out without feeling all bundled up. Just the way I like it.

Palette Talk.

(Top, Club Monaco; Sweater, Banana Republic (similar here); Pants, Theory - on sale!; Shoes, Ivanka Trump; Jewelry, David Yurman & Hermes)

For anyone that knows me, they know I love myself a good neutral palette. In fact, I have a tough time veering away from it when it comes to fashion or home decor - for that matter.  But there's something about pairing blacks, whites, greys and beiges together that seems so chic and always looks put-together. The weather in NYC has been amazing recently so all you really need is a light sweater - if that! If only it could stay this way until Spring...

Vineyard.

(Boyfriend jeans, J.Crew; Top, Club Monaco; Hat, Rag & Bone, similar here)

T and I just went to Martha's Vineyard for the first time over Columbus Day Weekend for our good friend's wedding. Though it wasn't beach weather, it was the perfect weekend for their tented wedding that was situated at Beach Plum Inn. Since it was a holiday weekend, we all got to hang out with the newlyweds the next day. I loved this idea - more often than not, you only get to see the couple the night of the wedding or at brunch the day after. We spent the day in town for shopping and football at a local bar on the wharf in Edgartown.

This weekend was also the official one year mark before our wedding. Here is to hoping we get the same amazing weather Matt and Maria got!

So College.

I recently went back to college for my 5-year reunion. It was so much fun to stay in our Sophomore year dorm, get ready with friends and travel around in packs. I still see most of my college friends regularly but nothing compares to being back on campus - where it all started.

It's funny though - a few months ago I decided to look through my wardrobe and pull out the things I wanted to give away and sell. Most of them were clothes I wore in college and hadn't touched since then. In college, I had my "going out" clothes and my "daytime" clothes, which consisted of workout clothes and library attire. Now, working at a tech start up and in a pretty laid back environment, I only have one wardrobe with things that can easily transition from day to night.

That being said, my college "going out" uniform which consisted of tight, short black dresses (for the most part) did not sell on e-bay - both a sign of the times and evidence that my own style has evolved (thank god!).

P.S. - The below linen shirt from J.Crew is a perfect summer staple and now 30% off with code "GOSHOPPING"

Brit Inspired.

(Jeans, DL1961; Shirt, J.Crew; Jacket, Barbour; Sweatshirt, courtesy of Knackered Goods; Shoes, Wythe NY via Gilt, similar here; Jewelry, Club Monaco, Tiffany; Bag, Ralph Lauren; Sunnies, Ray-Ban)

I was excited to have the opportunity to wear a piece from the new line, Knackered Goods. The brand pulls from British fashion and culture but maintains a casual and comfortable sense that alludes to American sportswear. What I love most is how soft the material is, which makes it perfectly cozy for meeting my parents for Sunday brunch. I threw on my Barbour jacket to stick with the British theme and keep me warm on the more shaded streets :)
