Ombre.

Just as I was obsessing over Rag & Bone's ombre denim, I discovered that DL1961 has their own version of ombre as well. We shouldn't be too surprised that denim has caught the ombre bug along with my once highlighted to the root locks. I may have taken it too far while at an event at Nike ID recently when I gave the faded look a test drive with my kicks, but I'll have you be the judge of that.

Nonetheless, I'm super excited for this trend this fall and cannot wait to slip into a new pair of my always-perfect-fitting-favorite, DL1961.

I liked these Belle by Sigerson Morrison sandals so much I bought a second pair in taupe! They are currently on sale at Madewell. Although, I really need to stray from this neon yellow color, it's been my immediate go-to this summer and I can't seem to stop buying pieces in it! As bright as it is, it somehow manages to coordinate with everything I own.

Today is my last day working at Hearst Magazines! I can't believe how fast these two years have flown by. I will be starting my new job on Monday. As I make my transition into the mobile space, I'm excited to sport some new bracelets from my bosses at Hearst. They know I'm a big fan of stacking bracelets, which made for the perfect parting gift.

I love the intricate details that go into every piece of Tibi's collection. What looks like a dress could very well be a pair of shorts and a tunic, but really this piece is neither. It's actually a romper and an awesome one at that!

Summer Breeze.

Currently dreaming of summer and thought I'd give you a closer look into those chicer suits, also known as one-pieces, whose plunging necklines and great attention to detail have me completely obsessed (and wishing I had at least one reason or occasion to actually wear something so elegant and stylish on the beach!).

Michael Kors

Balmain

Michael Kors
Balmain is always known for their innovative takes on classic pieces. By taking a simple black bathing suit and adding stunning cuts, the typical suit has become a red carpet look for the seas. MK adds flair with belting reminiscent of Halle Berry's unforgettable Bond suit.

While none of these suits are exactly what one would consider practical, one can dream, right?

Tory Flats - a shoe narrative.

My story begins with the fact that I have never been a fan of ballet flats. Perhaps it is because I'm always looking for a shoe that will give me that extra inch (or 5!) or maybe because I really just never saw the point in wearing a shoe that really does absolutely nothing for your stature. As it started getting nicer out, I found myself wearing a pair of Havaianas to work in place of my comfortable but not-so-weather-appropriate boots.

Of course, immediately upon arrival to work I quickly would change into whatever heel I had stashed in my cabinet but what about those couple minutes spent getting into the building, up the escalator and riding the elevator? My flip flop attire was not cutting it and that is when it dawned on me that I actually needed a pair of flats.

Never owning a pair of flats, maybe I should have just gone for a flimsy inexpensive pair, but instead I went for a pair from the flat queen herself, Tory Burch. I fell in love with the new Aaden Ballet flat and trying them on felt like heaven.

Unfortunately when they arrived and within the first ten minutes of wearing them I was limping my way to work in pain. I know some shoes (especially the Tory flats) take awhile to break in, but has anyone else had this issue that eventually goes away? If not, I am sadly going to have to let go of this gorgeous pair of shoes and be forced to go back to wearing beach attire on my way to work.

Follow-up to come...

Classic Twists.

Designer label, Milly has teamed up with Sperry to create a fun and vibrant twist on the classic prepster brand. I stopped by their Flatiron NYC location this past Saturday and was immediately drawn to the new line that consumed the window merchandise. Window shoppers everywhere can't help but stop in and try on the Milly collection. The location itself is a Top-Sider lovers dream with aisles and aisles of different patterns and styles.

Check out the Milly/Sperry collaborative shoes that are on my radar:

I love the "M" insignia and really like the lime patent color.

Which is your favorite?

Oscars & Mint

I'm giving three shoutouts to Angelina, Gwyneth and Maria.

(Left to right: Angelina Jolie in Versace , Gwyneth Paltrow in Tom Ford)

While the two starlets kept it classy with timeless black and cream ensembles, I love how Maria dared to wear the new "it" color in her Maria Lucia Hohan gown.

I can't wait to wear this mint/aquamarine shade! Check out my picks:

Day of Hearts

Happy Valentine's Day!

Rebecca Taylor Heart Print Dress

A day to be adored or a deliberate marketing tactic to boost sales for little hearted chochkas? Whichever your view, I must admit that I roll with the latter crowd and judging by her new collection, so does Rebecca Taylor. Of course the above Rebecca Taylor number  is adorably cutesie in all of its speckled hearted glory but RT's Fall 2012 Collection was singing a different tune on the runway this past week.

Think mixing textures and playing with layers. Not so cutesie now, are we?

Layering with different texures? Check!

Velvet pants? Check!

Boots with the fur? Check!

I think the designer did a fantastic job with this transition. Normally hints of girly undertones scatter her line, but darker neutrals have taken their place making it almost like RT's edgy-alot-cooler-younger-sister (What's up Sam Laj!?)

What do you think of this collection?
P.S. I bought little heart earrings this weekend and wore them yesterday. The thought was there...
